Utah 2010
About a week ago, Jasper and I took a trip to Utah. It will probably be the last one for a while since he'll be starting preschool right around the time the baby is born and we won't be able to just pick up and go anymore. I was very glad to get in one last visit. My mom and I spent a lot of time at the fabric store, and she did the sewing while I did the watching. Jasper had a lot of fun with his uncles and G-Parents.

This is all the snow there was until the day we left.
"Helping" G-Pa fix the car

He played plenty of games on the Wii and PS3
Jonny took care of Jas a LOT so my mom and I could do our stuff. Thanks Jonny! (Now go clean your room :)

It's always fun to go back to your mom's house and I'm glad Jon lets us go pretty much whenever we want. In about a week we'll be making the trip down to his mom's house and after that it's nesting time.

It's a GIRL!

Yesterday we went to our ultrasound and found out it's a GIRL! We are very excited. We've thought it was a girl since the first time I felt sick, but it's good to have confirmation. Jasper thought the ultrasound was interesting, but he said the baby looked like a giraffe, then a monkey, then a snake, then a worm. He also said he doesn't want a sister or a brother or anybody, so we'll have to warm him up to it. She wasn't being very cooperative, so we didn't get very many good pictures of her, but it is confirmed that she is a girl (I didn't post that picture though). We're excited to have a boy and a girl, and I'm pretty sure Jon is already wrapped around her little finger. Now we just have to find a girl J name that we like. Yay!

Jasper and the Baby
Since the initial dislike of the baby idea, Jasper seems to have warmed up to it. Here are a few stories of Jasper and the baby.
--
* He gives me sips of his juice or milk and says "this will make your baby stronger."
--
* When I first told him I had a baby in my tummy, he said "did you eat the baby?" A few weeks later he asked me how the baby would get out, and it took me a second to think of a 3-year old appropriate response. I just told him when the baby was big enough I would go to the doctor and the doctor would take the baby out. These are tricky questions to explain to a little kid.
--
* The other day we were sitting on the couch talking about the baby and he said "when I was a baby I was in your tummy and before I was a baby I was a vitamin." I guess he thought that because I take my prenatal vitamin every day and he knows the vitamin will help the baby be stronger. His logic sometimes is so funny.
--
* He was rubbing my stomach one day (because it's big already) and he said "your tummy is big." I said "that's because the baby is in there." He said "let me see" and he tried to pry my mouth open to look down into my stomach to see the baby. I thought that was so funny. I told him the baby was too far down to be able to see it.
--
I'm glad he's getting used to the idea. We go in 2 weeks to see if it's a boy or a girl and we are very excited. We're going to take Jasper with us to the ultrasound so he can see the baby a little easier than trying to stare down my throat.
