Look at what our miss can do. She's been doing it all over the house for a couple weeks now.

Los Angeles Arboretum
This past Tuesday we went to the Los Angeles Arboretum. It was a lot of fun. There are so many different kinds of plants and things to look at. It wasn't unbearably hot, and everyone was in good spirits so it was a nice day. We didn't see everything, so there will be plenty to look at next time.
Peacocks are walking around everywhere.
This is a mother peacock and some of her babies. The babies had little tiny crowns on their heads, like the adults have.
They have interesting art things all over.
I told them to make a spooky face.
This waterfall was pretty, but also pretty loud. If you look on the top left of the picture, you can see one of the pipes that feeds the waterfall :) It's not nature-made for sure.

Journey's first birthday was a hit. She seemed to be a little more diva-like than usual, so I guess she knew it was her day.
She started the day by sleeping in,
followed by a waffle and strawberries.
Jas got dressed in his fancy clothes,
and so did she. Jas chose this top for her so she could turn into a cheetah.
Lunch was cheese bread, puffs, and a bite of beet, which she didn't eat.
Jasper invited literally every kid in the neighborhood to her party, so I let them all in to sing to her.
Jasper helped blow out her candle.
First taste of cake.
I think she liked it. She didn't get nearly as messy as her brother did on his first birthday.
Post-cake clean up and drink.
Opening presents. She got her first purse, her first tea set, and a bunch of cute new clothes, including a new robe from Uncle Jerm. She also got her first My Little Ponys, financed by G-ma and chosen by Jasper.
Jasper's friend Fernando gave her one of his own teddy bears. I thought that was so sweet.
We finished the day at a baseball game, which was a nice way to relax. Holding her at this game, it really hit me hard that she's not a baby anymore and how fast this year has gone by for us. We are so proud of our miss, and how much she has grown. She's just wonderful.

Happy Birthday Little Miss!!
What a difference a year makes! She is everything her brother never was/is, which is good and bad, and she completes our family. We would absolutely not be the same without her and we love her so unbelievably much.
