State Fair

This past weekend we were able to go to the California State Fair. Jon goes for the food, I go for...I don't know what. The atmosphere I guess. It's always a fun family day. This year Jasper really wanted to ride the ferris wheel, so after spending EIGHT DOLLARS! on tickets (a dollar per ticket, 4 tickets per person), we climbed on. He was okay until it went down for the first time. Then it wasn't so fun. He did not enjoy it and said it was scary, but he didn't cry or throw up or anything so I thought it was successful. Also, I thought it was fun. I love that I have a husband who is excited to do things like this and likes to do silly family things. We've been to the county and state fair every year since Jasper was born, and I think it's a great tradition.

I could actually picture Jasper looking like this

He tried his best to be brave

The Grand Champion Goose
We wanted to get a picture of the Grand Champion Rabbit Meat Rabbit, but it wasn't there...

These piglets were only a week old and so cute

A VERY pregnant cow. The poor thing was due the next day and you could tell she was just miserable.

This is a typical state fair attraction. It was pretty fun actually.

Jasper is THREE!

In what seems to be a tradition, we went down to Jon's homeland in southern Cali for Jasper's THIRD birthday. I have no idea how I became the mother of a three-year old, but it's exciting to see him grow, even if the growing is going too quickly.

This is what L.A. traffic does to you

Jasper rides in style

Birthday Presents
Cupcakes are more important than pictures

We had a Star Wars theme, with an inflatable light saber

He was very thrilled to receive this Pooh puzzle

He chose this Buzz Lightyear at the store with a gift card from G-Ma

This castle is the coolest toy ever

All the loot

Raging Waters
We decided on Raging Waters for Jasper's birthday fun day. It's kind of hard to take pictures at a water park, but we got a couple. Jasper seemed to have a lot of fun, and everyone else did too.

Steven, Corin, Grandma Leanne, Jas, Me, Jon, Tyler's sweetie-pie girlfriend Sabrina, Tyler

Huntington Beach
We spent a whole day at the beach. It was really great. I wanted to have a "T.V. beach day", meaning a day like you see people on T.V. have with the umbrella and playing in the ocean and all that, and that's exactly how it went. It was my favorite thing we did while we were there. The only downside was that Jon got heat sickness and a sunburn that literally caused him to peel like a snake from head to toe. Luckily he recovered and has a lovely color now.

I do not have a future in boogie boarding

But Jasper might

Everything Else

The Kimball family is obsessed with playing World of Warcraft, Jasper included

Feeding the ducks in Grandma's backyard

Showing Steven the puzzle skills

Playing games at Shakey's

They got first place on the motorcycle racing game

Grandma's pool is so nice
All in all, it was a great trip and we're so thankful for everything Grandma and Grandpa do for us and for letting us take over their house for a week, putting away everything breakable and not caring if we eat all the bananas.

Skates and Mickey Ears

A few days ago we went skating with David and his grandma. Jasper decided he needed to skate with these Mickey ears, which are actually mine. It was a disasterous trip because Jasper didn't even want to skate, and he told me it wasn't fun when we got home. But I just think his little face is so cute.

*I know this is a weird picture. The skating place has horrible lighting and I cropped out all the background stuff.

Arrgh Matey!

While watching a Veggie Tales pirate movie, Jasper decided he wanted to be a pirate, and used the box as his pirate ship.
