Little Fish

Here's Jas swimming. He swims around saying "I'm a fish!". He loves to be in the pool, and he was really excited to have Daddy along this time.

Here's Jas kicking his little legs. He really is a good swimmer.

SUMMER IS HERE!

Yestereday Jasper and I went to the pool for the first time this year. We had so much fun. Jas does a really good job in the water, even when his head goes under. I have no pictures of him swimming because obviously I had to be in the water with him, but I will get some. I just think he looks so cute with his little shark floatie and his Transformer sandals that I had to post this.

Eww

Today I had what I consider to be my first real "mother of a little boy" experience. We were in the backyard and Jas was digging in the mud when he discovered a worm. He shoveled it into his bucket and then dug it back out. He spent the next 30-40 minutes playing with it, transfering it between shovels, picking it up, and just generally grossing me out. I dislike all bugs, worms, creepies and crawlies. After he had played with it, he said "me take it apart" and next thing I knew, there were two worm halves, one of which was still wiggling. So freakin' gross. I told him to put it back in the dirt so it could go to it's house, and then he shoveled some dirt on top of it so it would have some food. Even though it was now deceased. I don't know how I got blessed with a little boy, but I guess I'm glad about it. Even when he plays with one of the grossest things on Earth.

Comments

Hey, if you look at this blog, post a comment! I love to read what our friends and family have to say. This means you, Jerm!

Awww...

I just walked into my room and this is what I saw. I just thought it was too cute for words. Jasper's bed is in our room in a desperate attempt to get him to sleep in it, but so far it's not working. But at least it's getting some kind of use. I love my boys!

Making Cookies

For whatever reason, my husband gets up almost every night with a sweet tooth, so I try to keep the cookie jar stocked. Yesterday Jasper helped me. He actually was very helpful and didn't make too big of a mess, except when he started smashing the cookies like Play-Doh.
We didn't have any chocolate chips, so we chopped up all our leftover Easter chocolates. Jas was especially helpful with taking the foil off and taking a bite of each candy.

A pro at stirring

Here's the Play-Doh/cookie smashing technique

Taking a break to eat some Smarties (by the way, that beautiful piece of artwork in the background was done by me.)

I hope this isn't what he thought of the cookies.

The Joys of Rain and Mud

Jasper made up his own little rainy day song, and then proceeded to jump in a mud puddle. A little mud never hurt anybody, though.
