State Fair 2010

We love going to the state fair. It is a tradition for us, and luckily this year we didn't choose the hottest day of the year to go so it was much more pleasant. The theme this year was adventure and they had this dinosaur exhibit that was pretty neat. It wasn't quite what the commercials made it seem to be, but Jasper still thought it was awesome and that's what matters. We were glad uncle Jeremy could go with us. He always adds something special to any outing :)

Off we go. Jasper looks excited, Journey not as much.

Looking for fossils. I thought this would be something bigger than a sandbox with a few vertebrae scattered around but Jas thought he was an archaeologist.

The one on the ground is getting eaten. It's side was torn open, but it was still breathing. Kinda gross.

The dinosaurs were pretty amazing. They all moved and made noise.
Jasper's dinner

Jerm insisted that we ride the monorail, which we hadn't done before, but it will now be a fair tradition. It was pretty neat.

Jas was very excited. Journey slept through the whole thing.

Learning how to stop, drop and roll at Smokey's Camp.

The California Aerospace Museum had an exhibit. It was almost impossible to get Jasper out of the planes. We might have a future pilot in our midst.

They also had a jungle exhibit full of snakes and other creatures. Snake skin is disgusting.

An alligator snapping turtle. That turtle seems pretty vicious. Jas is doing the snapping with his hands.

We stayed until after 10 to watch the fireworks. I'd classify it as a pretty perfect day.
