Thanksgiving 2010

This is the only picture I have of Thanksgiving because I forgot to take my camera to Grandma Leanne's house. However, this picture has a story. I was tasked with making an apple pie. So I called Gram to get a crust recipe. It didn't work out. So then I tried the recipe on my pie pat. It didn't work either. The second time was harder because I was holding Journey in her sling thing because she was fussy on the floor. So then I loaded up the kids and off we went to Ralph's for pie crust. That worked. Jasper and I cut out maple leaves with cookie cutters for the top crust and I brushed it with evaporated milk and sprinkled it with sugar, like Gram said to, again while holding Journey in her sling. She's very clingly lately. Turns out, the pie was pretty good, even if the crust wasn't what pie crust should be. And it only took about three and a half hours to complete. Happy Thanksgiving.

Nature is Awesome

This weekend we were very busy. We went to Huntington Beach and Lake Arrowhead. Jon has been on vacation this week so we've had a lot of time to hang out and it's been very, very nice. We're so lucky to live so close to the beach and the mountains. Our next goal is to go to both in one day.

We ate lunch at a place called Belgian Waffle Works. They had the craziest waffle concoctions ever. Jasper had the Peanutty Belgian, which is a waffle with chocolate ice cream inside topped with peanut butter, whipped cream, chocolate syrup and nuts. Yikes.

He only ate about five bites.

It was really windy so Journey spent the time snuggled up in her car seat.

Big Girl

This little miss had her first taste of cereal a few days ago. She seemed to really enjoy it. She kept grabbing my hand to try to get the spoon to her mouth and she really liked sucking on the spoon. She ate it in the morning and hardly spit up for the entire rest of the day, which is a vast improvement to everyone's lives. She's getting so big, and she's so sweet. She gets more fun every day and her personality is really starting to come out. We love her!!!!

Hide and Seek

I opened the door to laundry cubby today and this is what I saw. I still don't know how he got in there since our dryer will only hold like 2 towels at once.

It really is a cubby, not even a closet.
